Position Overview

The Marine Knowledge Facilitator will play a vital role in the development and delivery of educational programs aimed at our internal team, external partners, and local communities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for marine environments and a strong background in educational methodologies, with a keen understanding of the seafood industry.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development: Design and implement comprehensive training programs covering marine ecosystems, sustainable seafood practices, and industry standards.
Workshops and Seminars: Organize and conduct interactive workshops and seminars for both staff and stakeholders to deepen understanding of marine practices.
Curriculum Creation: Create engaging educational materials, including manuals, presentations, and visual aids that highlight important concepts related to marine life and sustainable practices.
Assessment and Feedback: Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments within Tasmanian Seafoods to ensure that all training materials align with our corporate values and operational goals.
Community Involvement: Engage with local communities and educational institutions to foster awareness and support for sustainable seafood practices.
Research: Stay informed about the latest trends and research in marine science and education to ensure that our programs are current and impactful.

Qualifications

A degree in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Education, or a related field.
Previous experience in a training or educational role, preferably in the marine or environmental sectors.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
Proficiency in developing training materials and using innovative teaching methods.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
