Community Engagement Specialist Position
We are seeking a passionate individual to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa at the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa. As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy. Your role will involve fostering relationships within the community, developing outreach programs, and raising awareness about our cause.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with community members, organizations, and potential donors
- Organize and execute community events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns
- Create engaging content for social media and other communication channels
- Collaborate with team members to develop strategies for community engagement and outreach
- Provide support and information to individuals affected by muscular dystrophy
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for making a difference in the community
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in community engagement or a related field is a plus
- Understanding of issues faced by individuals with disabilities
