Position Overview: Wellness and Community Support Coordinator

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Wellness and Community Support Coordinator to join our multi-cultural team. This role is designed to bridge the needs of our community by facilitating programs that enhance physical and mental well-being while aligning with sustainable practices.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong dedication to fostering healthy environments and advocating for inclusive, supportive services. You will work collaboratively across departments to develop initiatives that emphasize preventative care, health education, and community empowerment — all while embracing Åland’s unique cultural fabric.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement community-centered wellness programs integrating holistic health principles and sustainable living.
Coordinate partnerships with local organizations, cultural groups, and stakeholders to promote accessible well-being services.
Conduct workshops and informational sessions that educate diverse audiences on wellness practices, environmental health, and resilience-building.
Facilitate communication among multi-ethnic groups to ensure inclusivity and cultural sensitivity in program design and execution.
Support mental health initiatives by creating safe, empowering spaces encouraging dialogue and connection.
Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes to continuously enhance quality and impact.
Advocate for environmentally-friendly approaches within community activities, emphasizing sustainable resource use and climate consciousness.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Educational background in public well-being, community development, or a closely related field.
Experience working within multi-cultural environments and liaising with diverse community stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to community engagement.
Awareness of sustainable practices and environmental impact related to health and lifestyle.
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with proficiency in English and preferably familiarity with Finnish or Swedish.
