About the Role

The Community Engagement Coordinator position is central to fostering meaningful connections between our organization and the diverse communities we serve. This role is designed not only to plan and execute impactful community events but also to cultivate partnerships that elevate our outreach and deepen stakeholder involvement.

The successful candidate will serve as the architect of engaging and dynamic experiences that resonate with broad audiences, leveraging elements traditionally associated with live performance, entertainment, and audience interaction — without direct reference to the industry itself. Through strategic event conceptualization and implementation, this position supports our core mission of community rebuilding, outreach, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Coordination: Develop comprehensive event plans that reflect organizational goals, incorporating interactive components that promote community involvement and message amplification.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with community leaders, volunteers, vendors, and partner organizations to ensure the success and sustainability of events.
  • Program Development: Innovate and tailor event programming to attract diverse audience demographics, maximizing outreach efficiency and impact.
  • Communication & Promotion: Oversee the creation and dissemination of promotional materials, utilizing various media platforms to enhance visibility and attendance.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support event execution, guaranteeing seamless operational flow during activities.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage event budgets responsibly, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high quality.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Monitor event metrics to analyze effectiveness, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this vital role will demonstrate a blend of professional expertise and passionate community commitment, including:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Community Development, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in event coordination or community outreach, preferably with exposure to environments emphasizing live and interactive engagement.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of adapting messaging to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust-based partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of events.
