The Role: Visual Experience Coordinator

We seek a passionate and visionary Visual Experience Coordinator to join our multidisciplinary team. This position is ideal for a professional who can translate complex ideas of sustainability, care, and community into compelling visual narratives and environments that enhance the healing process.

The Coordinator will be responsible for conceptualizing and implementing visual strategies that reflect our clinic’s mission. Through innovative approaches to spatial aesthetics, materials selection, and graphic communications, the role bridges practical sustainability goals with meaningful human experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Visual Strategy Development: Lead the creation of visual themes and design schemes that embody the Clinic's values of health, sustainability, and social responsibility.
  • Environmental Harmony: Source environmentally friendly and locally available materials for visual installations, signage, and interior enhancements, minimizing ecological impact.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with local artists, cultural groups, and stakeholders to incorporate diverse perspectives and regional identity into visual narratives.
  • Patient and Staff Experience Enhancement: Create calming, accessible, and inclusive visual environments that contribute positively to patient comfort and staff well-being.
  • Educational Outreach: Develop visual content and exhibitions that raise awareness about environmental issues, health sustainability, and the intersection of community culture and wellness.
  • Project Management: Plan, budget, and oversee visual projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with sustainability objectives.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with clinical, administrative, and facilities teams to ensure visual elements support operational needs and organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Visual Communication, Environmental Design, Interior Design, or related fields.
  • Proven experience implementing sustainable design practices within institutional or community settings.
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates innovative use of materials and visual storytelling aligned with social impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to engage diverse groups and foster collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Icelandic culture and environmental challenges is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to visualization, mapping, and digital communications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and social responsibility.
