Position Overview
The Community Engagement and Event Coordinator will play a pivotal role in designing, planning, and delivering enriching community initiatives and gatherings. These events serve as platforms to inspire intergenerational connections, promote cultural appreciation, and enhance public awareness about both environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.
This position requires a blend of project management expertise, creative communication skills, and a deep understanding of local and multicultural contexts. The successful candidate will collaborate with community leaders, Indigenous groups, government agencies, and other stakeholders to curate experiences that foster inclusivity and shared celebrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and orchestrate community-centered events that align with departmental objectives of cultural engagement and environmental awareness.
- Work closely with diverse cultural groups within the Northern Territory to ensure programming reflects multiple perspectives and traditions.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Create communication strategies to effectively promote community initiatives across various platforms and media.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to inform continuous improvement and report to senior management.

Selection Criteria
