Position Overview: Sustainable Data Innovator

This role is designed for highly motivated individuals passionate about leveraging data and analytical insights to advance sustainable practices and natural resource management. As a Sustainable Data Innovator, you will play a critical role in translating complex environmental data into actionable strategies that support Verizon’s long-term commitment to ecological resilience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis: Lead the design and implementation of data collection methodologies involving terrestrial and atmospheric systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and relevance to corporate sustainability goals.
Model Development: Create predictive models that simulate environmental impact metrics, risk assessments, and resource optimization to guide strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and strategy teams to integrate findings into Verizon’s infrastructure planning and innovation pipeline.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and internal standards by preparing detailed reports that communicate environmental trends and performance metrics.
Innovative Solution Development: Identify and implement emerging technologies and methodologies that enhance sustainability monitoring and environmental stewardship.
Field Studies: Occasionally participate in site evaluations and observational studies to validate data and improve real-world applicability of analytical models.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Environmental Science, Earth Systems, Geospatial Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Python, R, GIS software, and remote sensing technologies.
Demonstrated experience working with large environmental datasets, including air, soil, and water quality indicators.
Strong understanding of natural systems and their interactions with human infrastructure.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating technical information for diverse audiences.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for innovation in sustainability.

Preferred Attributes

Experience within the telecommunications sector or large-scale infrastructure environments.
