Your Role

As a Resource Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our efforts to assess, develop, and implement practices that safeguard Vermont's natural resources while enhancing community resilience. Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of natural resource utilization and community impacts, focusing on urban planning, land use regulation, and sustainability initiatives.
Collaborate with local governments, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities in sustainable resource management.
Design and facilitate workshops and seminars aimed at educating communities about best practices in resource conservation and sustainable living.
Develop educational materials and policy recommendations to advocate for resource management policies that enhance environmental integrity and social equity.
Monitor and analyze state and federal legislation related to resource management, providing legal insights and recommendations on compliance and advocacy.
Assist in grant writing and fundraising efforts to secure funding for sustainability projects and initiatives.

Your Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Urban Planning, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
At least 3 years of experience in resource management, community engagement, or environmental policy.
Demonstrated understanding of Vermont's unique environmental challenges and opportunities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and present findings to diverse audiences.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in creating educational content.
Proficiency in GIS software and other data analysis tools is preferred.
