Position Summary
The Community Engagement and Compliance Coordinator position lies at the heart of our mission to cultivate meaningful partnerships and ensure organizational adherence to key policy frameworks. This role requires a nuanced understanding of community-focused programming, regulatory awareness, and process improvement. Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Coordinator will champion initiatives that align with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s strategic priorities while maintaining adherence to applicable standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development & Collaboration: Design, implement, and monitor community outreach initiatives that support economic development and social well-being, working closely with local stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, and municipal agencies.
- Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all outreach and internal operational activities comply with applicable policies, regulations, and best practices related to community engagement and organizational accountability.
- Impact Assessment & Reporting: Develop metrics and evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness. Prepare detailed reports to inform strategic decision-making at executive levels and external partners.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between the Bank and community partners, facilitating transparent communication, fostering trust, and cultivating long-lasting relationships.
- Training & Development: Lead internal training sessions to enhance staff understanding of community engagement processes and compliance policies, strengthening overall organizational proficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve program design and compliance frameworks, incorporating feedback from community members and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in community relations, policy studies, or compliance are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years) in program coordination, community relations, or compliance activities within organizations dedicated to community impact and stewardship.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory environments relevant to community-oriented initiatives and financial institutions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across diverse groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; adept at using data to drive decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and public presentation.
- Self-motivated with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
